Biographies of the
cast and crew of NOTHING SO STRANGE
DAVID JAMES ("David James," and co-producer under the name Garland Slack) has appeared as Jesus Christ in the Los Angeles premiere of the stage play Second Coming; as Guildenstern in the Los Angeles Actors Circle Theatre production of Hamlet; as handyman Bob in the Philippino-American comedy film Much Adobo About Nothing; and as James in Brian Flemming's first feature, Hang Your Dog In The Wind. LAURIE PIKE ("Debra Meagher") is a journalist, magazine editor and filmmaker. Her articles have appeared most recently in GQ, Los Angeles magazine, the Los Angeles Times, Glue, and Jalouse. She wrote and produced Six Steps to Heaven, a feature-length documentary on dance crazes, for Britain's Channel 4. Her short film "The Baby Haters" screened at the Chicago Underground Film Festival and Slumdance in 1997. MARK DANIEL CADE ("Mark Andersen") played recurring roles on "All My Children" and "Another World" while he lived in New York. After finishing the national tour of Six Degrees of Separation, Mark relocated to Los Angeles to perform guest spots on several television shows and has played recurring roles on "Working," "Diagnosis Murder" and "Seinfeld." Recent film credits include Catfish In Black Bean Sauce and the soon to be released Gut Feeling. KEYTHE FARLEY ("Keith Charles") is the co-author (with Brian Flemming and Laurence O'Keefe) of Bat Boy: The Musical. He also played a lead role in Flemming's film Hang Your Dog in the Wind. Keythe directs character voices on the animated series "As Told By Ginger" and "Rugrats," for which he has also written and produced. Keythe was a regular contributor to the IFC newsmagazine "Split Screen," has written for two Independent Spirit Awards ceremonies, and is a co-founder of the alternative film festival Slumdance. As an actor, Keythe has appeared in the HBO movie ...And the Band Played On, as well as on numerous television series including "High Incident," "Star Trek Voyager," "Full House," and "Beverly Hills 90210." Keythe is a graduate of UCLA, and is a member of the Actors' Gang. VALERIE GORDON ("Valerie") received her BA in Drama at SFSU and continued her training at ACT before transplanting to Hollywood. Her resume includes many independant films, theatrical productions, commercials, and industrials. She has recently formed Half-Breed Productions and is producing and starring in the play "Blood Moon" which will open in January 2002 at the Jewel Box Theatre in Hollywood. LAWRENCE DICKERSON ("Lawrence Dickerson") is a freelance photographer and technical services representative in Los Angeles. ED RAMOLETE is a is a member of the East West Players and the David Henry Hwang Writers Institute. His play, Shadow Dance of a Mosquito Boxer, was a finalist in the East West Players Y2K New Voices Playwriting Competition. Ed has presented new work with the East West Players New Voices Project at the Japan American National Museum and most recently appears in the film, Much Adobo About Nothing, which premiered at the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival. Ed is on the boards of the Hereandnow Theater Company, The Filipino American Library and is Co-Chairman of the Filipino American National Historical Society (FANHS) National Conference which will be held in Los Angeles in July of 2002. JENNIFER LAUREN ("Jennifer Smith") grew up studying and performing theater, most prominently at the John F. Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.. She now lives in Los Angeles, where she has appeared in commercials, films and plays. STEVE SIRES ("Bill Gates") is otherwise known as "Bogus Bill v.2.0." A machining engineer when he is not performing, he frequently is hired to portray Bill Gates at corporate events and private parties. He has even been hired by Microsoft. Steve has been featured in dozens of publications and television news stories. His website is www.bogusbill.com. CREW BIOS BRIAN FLEMMING (director, producer, cinematographer, editor) is a playwright, director and producer. He co-wrote the recent off-Broadway hit Bat Boy: The Musical (Best Off-Broadway Musical 2001-Lucille Lortel Awards and Outer Critics Circle; 8 Drama Desk nominations); wrote and directed the feature film Hang Your Dog in the Wind (Special Jury Prize, 1997 Florida Film Festival; official selection, Gen Art Film Festival); co-wrote the Independent Spirit Awards ceremony (for hosts John Turturro and Queen Latifah, as well as dozens of celebrity presenters such as Alec Baldwin, Randy Quaid, Cameron Diaz and Minnesota governor Jesse Ventura) in 1998 and 1999; co-wrote an episode of "Rugrats" with Keythe Farley; produced, directed and appeared in segments for IFC's former newsmagazine show "Split Screen"; and produced a radio documentary about a debate between a rabbi and Larry Flynt. He is also the co-founder of Slumdance, an alternative festival that appeared in Park City in 1997. Brian is the author of www.slumdance.com, which chronicles his various exploits, including his being pushed around by Bruce Willis's security thugs in Idaho. He is currently writing his next film.
